I am the Clinical Team Leader for the fabulous Inpatient Unit nursing team at Teesside Hospice, where I have worked for the last 17 years.

I feel incredibly privileged to care for patients and their families during some of the most difficult and important times in their lives. I am passionate about ensuring that every person who comes into the hospice feels valued, respected and cared for with dignity,  kindness and compassion.

For me, hospice care is about so much more than nursing. It is about being there for people when they need it most, listening to what matters most, supporting their families and loved ones and helping to make every moment count.

I am immensely proud of the dedicated and compassionate team I work alongside and the care, commitment, and heart they bring to their work every day.

I’m proud to be Clinical Sister of IPU at Teesside Hospice, where every day brings an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. I love being able to provide compassionate, individualised care and support to patients and their families during some of the most significant moments in their lives. Being part of such a dedicated and supportive team makes every day rewarding.

As a team, we have such an important opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of the people we support – by truly listening to their needs, understanding what matters to them, and providing meaningful activities, connection, support and moments of joy.

I am passionate about creating services where people feel valued, heard and cared for, while empowering them with knowledge, confidence and support they need to remain as well as possible at home and live life to the fullest.
